About the festival:
We are delighted to announce the inaugural Penrith Highland Festival, taking place on Saturday, 3 October 2026.
This exciting new event will celebrate the rich traditions, history, and heritage of Scotland. Bringing together the sights, sounds, and spirit of the Highlands in a vibrant, family-friendly festival.
Visitors can enjoy spectacular performances by pipe bands, talented Highland dancers, and traditional Scottish musicians, alongside displays of Scottish clans, authentic Highland dress, and cultural exhibits that showcase centuries of Scottish history and customs.
Throughout the day, there will be plenty of entertainment and activities for all ages. Experience the stirring sound of massed bagpipes, marvel at the athleticism of Highland dancers, and witness demonstrations of traditional Highland Games. Enjoy thrilling amusement rides, skilled horsemen in mounted combat displays, and immersive medieval re-enactment camps that bring history to life.
The event features an impressive display of classic, custom, and modern cars and motorcycles.
Running for nine hours, the Penrith Highland Festival promises a full day of entertainment, cultural experiences, live performances, interactive displays, delicious food, market stalls, and family-friendly attractions.
